"You Have to Love the Creativity of Google"

By Merle MCPromotions.com

Have you ever wondered how Google continually comes up with new service ideas? Not a company to be content at the back of the line, they're constantly launching fun goodies for the enjoyment of "Internet Junkies." With many of these new services you'll need an account with Google to use them. Get yours at google.com/accounts

So what have they been up to lately? Let's take a look.

1) Google Notebook: google.com/notebook

If you do a lot of research online this might be right up your alley. As you surf the net you can collect text and or images and place them in your own "Google Notebook." You can have multiple notebooks, keep them private or share them with others. Currently only available for Internet Explorer 6.0

2) Google Page Creator: pages.google.com

Google's offering free websites now? You betcha. This is still in the testing phase and you'll need to have a Gmail account to sign up. You get 100MB of space for your pages and be using IE 6.0 or Firefox 1.0 or higher. You can build your own website with no HTML knowledge right in your browser. Your newly built site's name will look like ...

yourgmail.username.googlepages.com

3) Google Co-op: google.com/coop

Everyone's an expert on something right? Google Co-op allows you to share your expertise and help others with their Google search efforts all at the same time.

4) Google Trends: google.com/trends

Want to know how often something is searched for at Google? You can enter up to five different topics to gauge interest and also see how often your subject matter has appeared in Google news stories and which geographic regions have searched for them the most.

5) Google Desktop 4: desktop.google.com

Not a new product but a big upgrade. The newest addition is called "Gadgets" which are mini- programs delivering things, such as weather, news updates, games and more.

6) Google Spreadsheets: spreadsheets.google.com

Now you can keep your spreadsheets online and pull them up from anwywhere you like with just your browser.

You'l find some of these new inventions and plenty of others over at "Google Labs." The lab is where Google launches new services that aren't yet ready to go out into the mainstream. It's located at labs.google.com

Google really is a giant online. If you've only been using them for search, it's time to step out of your comfort zone and try one of their new tools. Trust me, you'll have fun and you can thank me for it later.
