About this product: If you can only take ten CDs to a deserted island (so the saying goes) make this one of them. The Bulgarian language only adds to the mystique of the Bulgarian voices, and it's perfect for their various vocal affectations, microtonal variations and Eastern European harmonies. But that's getting way too technical.
Described as angelic, heavenly, mysterious, ethereal ... there is also much heart and soul and life in this music. You can feel the passion of those, who for generations, have lived with the seasons and worked with the good Earth. Digging deeper, also as much passion as any indigenous music you'll ever hear, but with as much sophistication (civilization, culture, art) as it needs. The best of both worlds. And this first release is the best of them all.
To further add to the mystery, if you ever see them live, you will wonder what planet they came from.
About this product: This is where the whole Mysterious Voices began, with this 1955 recording of the Koutev Ensemble. The sound is clean and the music is sublime. Don't be put off by the recording date, the performance is timeless. A rich variety of choral songs with some smaller vocal groupings; soft melodies and mountain style hollering. The exotic dance tunes make a pleasing contrast. I have never tired of hearing it. Guaranteed to make you tingle!
About this product: When you listen to Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares you feel like you are in some place else rather then Earth. This is a very good album with the same quality of the first one, which was a superb CD. The second one still brings you the angelical voices of these incredible women. The voice of Yanka Roupkina set up a standart in the frist one (third track, Kalimankou Denkou). If you liked the first one you certainly will like the second.
