Missile - A Documentary on Nuclear Launch Personnel

About this product:
I remember in the 80's seeing program notices for this on PBS. After tracking it down recently, I was surprised at how well it summarized its subject. Presented with no narration, it follows a class of officers being trained at Vandenberg AFB in 1986 to become launch officers on the Minuteman missile. They touch on many aspects of the training, from base life, to the technical subjects of the course, and some of the course leaders' discussions about the class' performance. Those who know a good bit about missiles, aerospace and strategic deterrence will probably enjoy this a lot more, since the lack of narration doesn't leave much for exposition, but it's also a good look at a piece of the Cold War and the Air Force in the 80's.
