About this product: Jerky Boys Johnny and Kamal go from the audio crank calling world to Hollywood. This movie is basically just about the guys hanging out and doing what they do best: acting like wackadoos. A must watch movie for goombas like me! The movie was co-produced by Tony Danza and Emilio Estevez (an odd couple, what else have they teamed on I wonder?) Anyway, when the guys from Queens make a few calls to the wrong people they end up in the world of the New York mob. Vincent "Big Pussy" Pastore is perfectly cast here playing the character he's best known for. Also noteworthy for those who love the fictional mob world, Johnny's mom is the same woman who plays Carmela's mom on Sopranos and before that she was Karen's mom from Goodfellas. For all you other goofy fruitcakes out there, Ozzy Osbourne (whose lines are a little more understandable than on his MTV show--although not much), Tom Jones and many others make appearances in this wacky wild and hilarious film. The only missing cameo was by The Diceman.
About this product: I was very disappointed with this film. The film was an inaccurate portrayal of the book, The Hiding Place, and the characters were horribly portrayed. If you have read the book and are expecting to see on screen the same things you've read, you're in for a big disappointment. While I understand that a book provides more details than a movie can, I DO expect the movie to line up with what is written in the book. This was not the case at all in this film. Things that didn't even happen in the book were erroneously included in the film. Casper Ten Boom is portrayed as a semi-spaced out man with the personality of a paper clip. Corrie Ten Boom is protrayed as a dour-faced, sharp-tongued woman who speaks harshly to Gestapo soldiers. The arrival of Eusi at the Beje (as well as the way he acted while staying there) is such a sharp contradiction to that which is written in the book. I could go on and on. Long story short....don't waste your money on this movie. Stick with the book. As soon as my husband and I got done watching the movie, we opened up the wastebasket in our kitchen and threw the DVD away. It was that bad.
