About this product: In Ticket to the Opera, Phil G. Goulding finally makes the magic and mystique of opera accessible to all. Here he offers a complete operatic education, including history, definitions of key musical terms, opera lore and gossip, portraits of famous singers and the roles they immortalized, as well as pithy introductions to the greatest operas of Europe and America and their composers. The book's centerpiece is what Goulding terms "the collection"--85 classics, among them Aida, The Marriage of Figaro, Carmen, and Madama Butterfly, that have been packing the world's opera houses for years. This entertaining, meticulously researched book also includes a fascinating chapter on American opera from George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess to Philip Glass's Einstein on the Beach and a discussion of the gems of twentieth-century opera featuring works like Leos Janácek's The Cunning Little Vixen, Alban Berg's Lulu, and Serge Prokofiev's The Love for Three Oranges.
Whether you're a curious neophyte, a music lover interested in branching out, or an aficionado eager to compare notes with a brilliant fellow opera buff, you'll prize Ticket to the Opera as an essential volume in your music library.

What sets Sold Out...SO WHAT! apart?
With the countless how-to books out there flooding the market, you might be tempted to dismiss Sold Out...SO WHAT! But if you take a closer look, you will find that there has NEVER been a how-to guide for concert and sporting event enthusiasts on navigating the treacherous waters of dealing with unscrupulous Ticket Brokers, "Authorized Ticket re-sellers" and Scalpers.
The Problem is Getting Worse
In 2007, many states made Scalping event tickets legal, with law makers essentially throwing in the collective towel on monitoring this $10 billion industry. This has left the average "Joe" event fan to fend for themselves as Ticket Brokers and Scalpers grab up all of the tickets before they go on sale to the public and then inflate them to obscene prices.
Finally, a Solution...
Max Deale has stepped forward to release a "survival guide" for the common live event attendee, the true fan. He has outlined the secrets that the High-Priced Ticket Brokers and Scalpers DON'T want you to know that will give fans a fighting chance to see their favorite Concert or Sporting Event without having to donate a kidney to get there. Sold Out...SO WHAT! isn't theoretical in its approach, nor does it take on the role of victim; this lighthearted, engaging playbook chronicles every step the author took in building his own successful system to level the playing field and enjoy the life of a Superfan. In Max's world, the fans REJOICE!

About this product: This book has had a new hype since Robert Pattinson recommended it. I actually heard about this book a couple years back from an uncle. It goes through the mind of a married man on a train who doesnt know who he is, where hes going, and why he's on the train. He goes through various "events" or atleast imagines them. Dennis Potter leaves a lot of the interpretation to his readers, he also leaves the book with an open-end.
About this product: Sewell and Gerry have only one purpose in life as well as one thing in common, they each need to get a season ticket to see Newcastle United, and for that they need money. Lots of money. This is the story of how they go about getting it.

Boston attorney Brady Coyne has a generally placid life with a nice house, a stable relationship, and the occasional fishing trip with old friends. But one balmy June evening, that quiet life begins to fall apart after Brady receives a frantic phone call from his friend and client Dalton Lancaster. Dalt is in the emergency room, having been severely beaten by a group of thugs who warned him that he has a week to pay off his debt. Even worse, the message comes directly from Paulie Russo, the head of the Boston mob. Dalt swears he has no such debt, but when Brady tries to intercede, Russo lets him know he is holding Brady responsible for his client's obligation. Then Dalt disappears and no one seems to know whether he's fled for his life or been murdered -- until the ransom demand arrives.
While Brady tries to rescue Dalt, and himself, from the escalating situation, his live-in girlfriend Evie buys a one-way ticket to California to care for her dying father, leaving Brady to wonder when -- or if -- she will return.
About this product: A ticket to any Elton John show is indeed a dream ticket, and this gathering of more than 100 photos, many never or seldom seen before, is as much a journal of the extraordinary distance he has covered across four decades as it is a snapshot of the energy and personality Elton has always delivered, whether on stage or record. If it's also a book about contrasts it's because he is man of contrasts, and throughout these pages the images portray his journey across the years, from blue jeans to peacock-like resplendence and back again, from unbridled extravagance to mature, monochrome elegance. The multi-faceted showman celebrated in this gallery may display countless aspects, but indubitably they are all part of one larger-than-life persona. This is Elton, and this is a picture of how he has carried his incomparable music into the hearts and minds of his global audience.
