This leading-edge book by Esther and Jerry Hicks, who present the teachings of the nonphysical entity Abraham, is about having a deliberate intent for whatever you want in life, while at the same time balancing your energy along the way. But it’s important to note that the awareness of the need to balance your energy is much more significant than goal-setting or focusing on ultimate desires. And it is from this very important distinction that this work has come forth.
As you come to understand and effectively practice the processes offered here, you will not only achieve your goals and desired outcomes more rapidly, but you’ll enjoy every single step along the path even before their manifestation. As such, you’ll find that the living of your life is an ongoing journey of joy, rather than a series of long dry spells between occasional moments of temporary satisfaction.

Public deliberation is essential to democracy, but the public can be fooled as well as enlightened. In three case studies of media coverage in the 1990s, Benjamin Page explores the role of the press in structuring political discussion.
Page shows how the New York Times presented a restricted set of opinions on whether to go to war with Iraq, shutting out discussion of compromises favored by many Americans. He then examines the media's negative reaction to the Bush administration's claim that riots in Los Angeles were caused by welfare programs. Finally, he shows how talk shows overcame the elite media's indifference to widespread concern about Zoe Baird's hiring of illegal aliens. Page's provocative conclusion identifies the conditions under which media outlets become political actors and actively shape and limit the ideas and information available to the public.
Arguing persuasively that a diversity of viewpoints is essential to true public deliberation, this book will interest students of American politics, communications, and media studies.
About this product: It may be sincere, but its effect on many is probably to discredit better and more carefully thought-out criticisms of modern schooling. Read someone like John Taylor Gatto instead, who has much less of a questionable ax to grind.

About this product: I read this book after Bob Keppel's excellent 1995 work THE RIVERMAN (a never-dull glimpse into Ted's twisted psyche). I must confess this was better than I expected, but I was disappointed to some extent. While Larsen tells about the Ted he met and the experiences he covered as a reporter during the investigation, it has the feel of a TV Tie-In, as this is. It just seems like a summary of everything else written about Ted. I was impressed by the amount of detail in this book about the Chi Omega murders and Ken Katsaris' publicity stunts with Bundy exploding in Katsaris' face. Good for people just becoming aquainted with Ted.
