Wordpress - How to Install a Wordpress Blog on a Website (Video Tutorial)
$15.95

About this product:
In this 1 1/2 hour video series you will learn step-by-step how to install wordpress correctly on your website.

The Benefits of Wordpress for Your Website Are:

1) Build a blog, or a whole different website with wordpress.
WordPress acts as a very powerful content management system (CMS), storing images, audio, video, pdfs and other documents for easy insertion into your pages. This scalable model can be used to build a simple brochure-style website, a business blog, an eCommerce site or a multi-level membership site.

2) Wordpress increases your search engine optimization (seo).
A site running on WordPress is optimized for easily publishing and changing content. Fresh, unique content is essential for getting good search engine rankings.

3) Wordpress is very easy to use.
WordPress is a software that is installed on your web server. To create or edit your website, just login the site from a web browser and access the backend admin panel. This acts as a control to do everything from change the look & feel of the site with 1 click, to add new pages or posts, change themes, edit comment and more.

4) Wordpress Posts (Blog Content)
Content that is presented as latest entry first, organized into archives automatically. This is the "blog" format, but businesses can use this to present latest news or product updates.

5) Full user registration.
WordPress has a built-in user registration system that (if you choose) can allow people to register and maintain profiles and leave authenticated comments on your blog. You can optionally close comments for non-registered users. There are also plugins that hide posts from lower level users.

We highly recommend using WordPress as an addition to your company website, or to revise your static brochure style site.

The Holiday
$19.93

About this product:
As a pleasant dose of holiday cheer, The Holiday is a lovable love story with all the Christmas trimmings. In the capable hands of writer-director Nancy Meyers (making her first romantic comedy since Something's Gotta Give), it all begins when two successful yet unhappy women connect through a home-swapping website, and decide to trade houses for the Christmas holiday in a mutual effort to forget their man troubles. Iris (Kate Winslet) is a London-based journalist who lives in a picture-postcard cottage in Surrey, and Amanda (Cameron Diaz) owns a movie-trailer production company (leading her to cutely imagine most of her life as a "coming attraction") and lives in a posh mansion in Beverly Hills. Iris is heartbroken from unrequited love with a cad of a colleague (Rufus Sewell), and Amanda has just broken up with her cheating boyfriend (Edward Burns), so their home-swapping offers mutual downtime to reassess their love lives. This being a Nancy Meyers movie (where everything is fabulously decorated and romantic wish-fulfillment is virtually guaranteed), Amanda hooks up with Iris's charming brother Graham (Jude Law), and Iris is unexpectedly smitten with Miles (Jack Black), a super-nice film composer on the downside of a failing relationship. --Jeff Shannon

DVD
Fear Dot Com
$14.98

About this product:
Fear Dot Com is a total-dot-mess, but it's a stylishly graphic frightfest that horror buffs will probably appreciate. As he did with his 1999 remake of House on Haunted Hill, director William Malone favors trippy atmosphere at the expense of acting, character development, and plot. Belatedly jumping on the Internet-thriller bandwagon, the film follows a brooding detective (Stephen Dorff) and a public health inspector (Natascha McElhone) as they investigate the deadly influence of the titular Web site, which channels the innermost fears of its visitors until they die of fright 48 hours later. Why 48 hours? Don't ask; Josephine Coyle's screenplay is as incoherent as Malone's grasp of narrative momentum, leaving Dorff and McElhone with little to do but look frightened and doomed. But Fear Dot Com has its moments, especially after mad doctor Stephen Rea's gruesome villainy is fully revealed, and the proceedings take on the monochrome pallor of silent German expressionism. Too bad these fantastic visuals weren't servicing a better movie. --Jeff Shannon

DVD
Must Love Dogs (Widescreen Edition)
$3.97

About this product:
The combined charisma of Diane Lane and John Cusack gives a lift to Must Love Dogs, a romantic comedy built on the comic potential of internet dating. Sarah (Lane, Under the Tuscan Sun), a preschool teacher and recent divorcee, has her entire family bugging her to get back in the dating pool. Finally her sister (dependable second banana Elizabeth Perkins, Big) puts an ad for Sarah online; a host of questionable prospects respond, but Sarah meets one guy--a boat builder named Jake (John Cusack, High Fidelity, Say Anything)--who shows promise, though he himself is recently divorced and a little tender. Unfortunately, Sarah also feels sparks with the father (Dermot Mulroney, My Best Friend's Wedding) of one of her students, and when paths cross, trouble follows. Must Love Dogs has some amusing scenes, but the tone and quality is wildly erratic--it's as if the movie was broken into a dozen parts and randomly assigned to different writers and directors, some of whom were making a bad sitcom, some of whom were making a good sitcom, and some of whom were making a movie that blended wry comedy with some deft psychological insight. The great cast (in addition to solid work from those mentioned above, there's also Stockard Channing and Christopher Plummer) keep the story moving, but for every amusing moment there are two that are plastic, forced, or wince-inducing. --Bret Fetzer

DVD
ABC News Nightline Love in the Twenty-First Century
$14.95

About this product:
Used to be family and friends were the entree to meeting new people and perhaps even your future spouse. Nowadays your partner in life is just as likely to be a mouse-click away!

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. In Regency England, friends and family would make sure that important information about eligibility was passed on to appropriate suitors, with the hope that it would end in marriage. In the 21st century, all Mr. Darcy and Miss Bennett would have to do is get online, fill in some pertinent information about their personalities and through the magic of ones and zeroes be brought together via cyberspace! Is that any less romantic than having your aunt or mother finding the right guy for you? ABC News looks at the booming business of Internet dating. Some 40 million people a month visit online dating services, spending millions of dollars looking for the right one. For a lot of people it seems to be working, and what is really interesting is that people aren't afraid to admit it. There is no stigma to using the latest technological tools to find someone to spend the rest of your life with. In a way it is almost old-fashioned. You get to know someone by writing to them first before even meeting them. ABC News talks to several couples who found their partner this way, and explores how these services work.
