ABC News Nightline Failing Grade
$14.95

About this product:
We report on Chester High School in Chester, Pennsylvania. It is one of the lowest-rated schools in Pennsylvania and has been plagued with the worst problems that plague the worst schools: overcrowding which led to a riot, a continuous turnover of staff and administrators, and even a bailout from the state just to pay the teachers' salaries. Chester High was part of a bold experiment in privatization. That trend began about a decade ago, the private sector was supposed to be able to fix all that ailed the public sector when it came to educating our children, but it didn't quite work out that way for Chester. In this program we meet a dynamic young principal, with his own unconventional path, who tried to help these kids beat the odds. You will also meet parents who worry about their children's futures, and a school board that is at a loss.

ABC News 20/20 School Choice
$14.95

About this product:
What parent wants to send his or her child to a second-rate school? So what should be done if your public school is no good? Florida Governor Jeb Bush signed into law the first statewide school voucher program in America. How does it work? Well, Florida now gives every school in the state a grade from A to F based on how well kids do on a yearly test. If any school gets an F twice, then parents in that district are allowed to use a voucher to get their kids out. Out and into even private schools. And how does the money work? Well, Florida spends on average about $5,000 to educate each child. Instead of continuing to just give that money to failing schools, Florida will now assign about $3,000 of it to the child. So any child who wants the voucher can take it to another school. John Stossel steps into the hot issue of "school choice." This "20/20" show contains the following additional stories: Gorilla Bonding Philly Coroner

Comic Party Revolution TV, Vol. 1 - Let's Get This Party
$1.18

About this product:
Comic Party Revolution (2005) continues the misadventures of the would-be manga artists from the 2001 broadcast series Comic Party. Somehow, all the high school comic fans have gotten into college, but it would be a mistake to say they've grown up. Taishi still dreams of ruling the world through doujinshi (fan comics), Eimi brags about her supposed accomplishments, Aya hasn't developed any confidence, and Mizuki has become less patient and more aggressive. Aspiring artist Kazuki remains the sanest member of the cast, although that's not saying much. The show has shifted from a spoof of doujinshi subculture to an unfocused harem comedy--the girls aren't all in love with Kazuki, although he remains at the center of the story. Fans of Comic Party will glad to see the familiar characters again, but they'll miss the inside jokes that made the original so much fun. (Rated TV 14, suitable for ages 12 and older: cartoon violence) --Charles Solomon
