About this product: I was highly disappointed when I read the reviews for this product giving it anything less than five stars. Before you watched the film, you should have known what it was about. That's why there are MOVIE TRAILERS. Watching the film for myself, I knew what to expect. For me, it was all that and more. Yes, it was based around drugs, violence and sex, but it was so realistic as to what's going on in today's society, minus women killing their children, teachers having sex with children, rape and other everyday sagas that the world faces. For a dose of reality, I would definitely recommend this film. It's not far from the truth. Maybe not in the neighberhood it was filmed in, but not far from the truth. Furthermore, the movie is suppose to be fiction so why would it depict actual neighberhoods that these type of things go on in?

About this product: This DVD is in one word brilliant. Nas show us why he is the greatest lyricist of all time. He plays songs from his last effort "God's Son". But also goes back in time when he drops jewels as "The World Is Yours", N.Y. State of Mind", "It Ain't Hard To Tell", "Nas Is Like" & "Got Urself A...". You also see Nas drops his superb diss-record "Ether" for the first time in front of an audience. The 2 most impressive perfomances are "One Mic" (Nas gives his all in this song) and "Made You look Remix". The crowd goes wild on this track. There is also an intermissen where Darryl McDaniels (DMC) comes on stage for showing his love for Nas. This DVD is a must have for every fan of REAL HIP HOP. One love.

Directed by Lawrence Page (Statistic), Murda Muzik is set in Mobb Deep's native Queensbridge and was inspired by Havoc and Prodigy's 1999 album of the same name (there's also a soundtrack). The straight-to-video release, which features big-name hip-hop talent like Big Noyd and Nas, may be manna for Mobb Deep faithful--but all others are advised to proceed with caution. Unlike John Singleton's Boyz N the Hood, the king of the hood movies, Murda Muzik lacks a plot and the dialogue, which appears to have been improvised on the spot, is hard to follow. The action, such as it is, consists of drinking, smoking, and drug dealing. There's also some sex and murder. If that sounds enticing, you'd be better off with Brian De Palma's Scarface.
