We got this ladybug nightlight as a gift and couldn't be happier with it! No, the stars are not really bright and crisp-looking, but it's a toy for a child, not an educational tool for a high-schooler. It's neat that the stars are actually in constellations, and it's fun to try to find the big dipper with our 2 year old daughter. She figured out which buttons to push to make the color of the stars change in no time, and I think it has helped her stay in her big girl bed since she is busy playing with it when she goes to bed at night. The soft fuzzy head and legs of the ladybug are great, it feels like a stuffed animal and our daughter can pick it up easily and move it around her bed or take it to Grandma's. She has started to have dreams and wake up periodically but when we turn on her nightlight again she calms right down and goes back to sleep. The automatic shut off is a big plus since it's yet another toy that takes batteries. This is definitely a toy for a kid around 2 or a little older, a smaller child might step on it or throw it and break it but a pre-schooler or older will love it. We absolutely love this nightlight and I'm buying 2 more for her cousins today!

The Mamas and the Papas had a sound that helped define a portion of the 1960s. Our 20 month old twins enjoy this video and watch it at least once a day. The three stories are simple but entertaining. The Spanish is easy for a non-native speaker with moderate ability to understand. The cartoons are crude by today's standards, but since our children do not watch television they do not mind. I recommend it for anyone who is raising their children bilingually.

In Finland this was named: "Mama, there's a white man in your bed!" as one of Juliette's children says in the movie. A nice twist that makes you wonder, what the movie is about.

I saw this on TV and was later very happy to find the video about these unexpected lovers, Romuald and Juliette. Romuald is a real yuppie, a director of Blanlait-company that makes yoghurt and is aiming to conquer new international markets. Juliette is an African cleaning-woman in the same company - and when she moves around unseen by 'important people' and empties the waste baskets, she stumbles on the office plots, which escape the director entirely, as he is being busy and powerful. And then one day everything seems to go wrong and Romuald works late to find out, what really happened...

Juliette comes in and suddenly asks, why he doesn't contact one of his employees. "Because he's in Lyon", Romuald answers politely but arrogantly. "People aren't always where you think they are", Juliette says. She asks him to call the man at his home in Paris and dictate to the answering machine: "I know everything, it has all come out" and in less than 15 minutes the man would come. And he should also call home, because her wife isn't there. And she leaves - and finally he calls. Juliette was right...

So starts this coalition: Romuald asks Juliette about everything, about his own secretary, money laundering, poisoning at the factory and so on - and lives in the run down apartement of Juliette and her children - all with different fathers. He hides from problems and acts like a polite but selfish hotel guest. Until he leaves to take back his place in the Blanlait company and his family. And realizes, he's in love with Juliette - who in turn has had enough of him. Romuald must win her over.

Daniel Auteuil (Romuald) is really charming in this movie, his haircut is by the way very becoming. He doesn't look this good in most of his movies. And Firmine Richard is delightful - as are the children. I've seen this over and over again, it is a really nice movie, it believes in people and goodness though shows people as flawed as they are - cheating wives and husbands, selfish children and plotting business men. If you're down and you can't think of a sure pick-me-up, this is it.

It was the first major Rock ‘n’ Roll Festival. No prerequisite…no precedents. We had no idea what to expect. The question of would people come was answered by mid-week prior to the start of the festival. They came and kept on coming. A major surprise was the extent of mainstream media coverage. When John Phillips and I arrived at the fairgrounds on the morning of the first day there were camera crews, photographers and journalists from all over the world. Add to that the advent of FM radio; and the following year Rolling Stone Magazine…Rock ‘n’ Roll was here to stay. Monterey gave birth to the first rock charity Monterey International Pop Festival Foundation, which continues to fund worthwhile causes in the names of the artists who appeared at Monterey. Precedents and prerequisites would be set for future concerts and festivals, including the overall treatment of the artist…Derek Taylor’s handling of the press…Chip Monks’ sound and lights…Pennebaker’s groundbreaking movie “Monterey Pop. The true legacy of The Monterey International Pop Festival is not the crowd size…not the weather…not a violent incident…it is the music. The groundbreaking artists who were introduced (Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and The Who) and the “rock royalty” (Simon & Garfunkel, Otis Redding and The Mamas & The Papas) that performed there continue to be revered and continue to impact to this day the music and musicians who came after it happened in Monterey on June 16, 17, and 18, 1967.
