From the supplier: A Wyatt Co study of Pres Bill Clinton's proposed national health care reform program estimates that it would require an average 11.4% payroll tax to finance the program. Employees might not be required to pay the entire tax themselves if the program also calls for funding from other sources, such as the "sin" taxes on alcohol and tobacco, and health care provider taxes. Payroll taxes with vary in different states with Florida workers paying the highest tax at 15.8% and Rhode Island employees paying the lowest at 6.3%.
