BOOK
iCon Steve Jobs: The Greatest Second Act in the History of Business
William L. Simon
$5.80

About this product:
iCon takes a look at the most astounding figure in a business era noted for its mavericks, oddballs, and iconoclasts. Drawing on a wide range of sources, Jeffrey Young and William Simon provide new perspectives on the legendary creation of Apple, detail Jobs’s meteoric rise, and the devastating plunge that left him not only out of Apple, but out of the computer-making business entirely. This unflinching and completely unauthorized portrait reveals both sides of Jobs’s role in the remarkable rise of the Pixar animation studio, also re-creates the acrimony between Jobs and Disney’s Michael Eisner, and examines Jobs’s dramatic his rise from the ashes with his recapture of Apple. The authors examine the takeover and Jobs’s reinvention of the company with the popular iMac and his transformation of the industry with the revolutionary iPod. iCon is must reading for anyone who wants to understand how the modern digital age has been formed, shaped, and refined by the most influential figure of the age–a master of three industries: movies, music, and computers.

BOOK
The Second Coming of Steve Jobs
Alan Deutschman
$5.99

About this product:
For the legions who revere Apple Computer's high-profile cofounder as a godlike figure, the aptly titled Second Coming of Steve Jobs will prove an intriguing picture of a seminal time in their deity's roller-coaster life. It should emphatically vindicate their deeply held faith in the man and his ideas. But even for those with a lesser opinion, Alan Deutschman offers an interesting and enlightening look at the crucial period from Jobs's unceremonious Apple exit through his triumphant return. Deutschman, a contributing editor at Vanity Fair magazine and longtime Silicon Valley correspondent, interviewed nearly 100 colleagues and friends to draw this portrait of a bewilderingly complex and notoriously private man--albeit one whose talents, personality traits, and idiosyncrasies have long been on public display. "He succeeded in becoming the Jackie Kennedy Onassis of business and technology," Deutschman writes, "a figure who was ubiquitous as a symbol of his times but little known as a human being." To change that, he looks into Jobs's ill-fated first post-Apple endeavor at the Next computer company, his return to undeniable respectability with Pixar and the two Toy Story movies, and finally, his ultimate absolution with a very successful reclamation of the Apple crown. It's a revealing account of a singular individual during a remarkable time. --Howard Rothman

BOOK
Return to the Little Kingdom: Steve Jobs and the Creation of Apple
Michael Moritz
$16.70

About this product:
Twenty five years later, revisiting the first authorized biography of Apple and its co-founder and celebrity CEO, Steve Jobs

In 1984, The Little Kingdom: The Private Story of Apple Computer told the story of Apple’s first decade alongside the histories of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Now, completely revised and expanded, Return to the Little Kingdom is the definitive biography of Apple and its founders from the very beginning.

Moritz brings readers inside the childhood homes of Jobs and Wozniak and records how they dropped out of college and founded Apple in 1976. He follows the fortunes of the company through the mid-1980s, and in new material, tracks the development of Apple to the present and offers an insider’s profile of Jobs, whose genius made Apple the powerhouse it is today.

Required reading for everyone who’s ever listened to music on an iPod, Return to the Little Kingdom is timely and thorough, and the only book that explains how Steve Jobs founded the company that changed our world.

BOOK
Steve Jobs: Apple & Ipod Wizard (Essential Lives Set 2)
Scott Gillam
$21.00

About this product:
Having read just about everything that has been written about Steve Jobs I was anxious to get this "new" book and it arrived this week.

Sadly, I'm still trying to figure out if this work was intended for children or some such target audience? The book itself is small and there is a picture on nearly every page. What's missing is the written content. The font size used is huge meaning each page contains about 40-50 words plus a picture. You do the math and figure if this is a good deal.

Save your money on this one. It isn't bad information -- there simply is nothing new here and the format makes me believe that the publisher simply put a 3000 word magazine article into book format.
