Lost in the Woods

    ๐Ÿ“‚ Running-hiking     # ,     ๐Ÿ—จ No Comments

I probably broke a bunch of hiking rules today when I went exploring in one of the state parks in my hometown. It was a nice hike until I decided to head back and about half hour into the return trip and lost in thought, it occurred to me that I had no idea where — Continue reading ยป

Jogging Tragedy

I happened on this story today about a 38-year old father who was struck and killed from behind by a small plane making an emergency landing. As a fellow jogger and a father I found the story saddening and I wish his family the best as they cope with the terrible loss. What made this — Continue reading ยป

Miami Beach Running

    ๐Ÿ“‚ Running-hiking         ๐Ÿ—จ No Comments

Last year when I was at Miami Beach on business, I went out for a jog on the boardwalk on the western side of the island, but after some distance hit a construction barricade and was forced onto the streets. This year however, with the construction apparently over, I was pleasantly surprised. The boardwalk extends — Continue reading ยป

Night Running

Running at night time is nothing new for me. I've been doing it for 2 decades after work. of course there's a big difference between the 8 PM hour in summers when it's warm and light versus the winters when it's cold and dark. For many living in the area, the cold and ice and snow are annoying curses, not me. I have a hard time understanding why some people choose to — Continue reading ยป

NYC Marathon

What a nice day to be a part of the biggest marathon event in the world. Only thing is that I wasn't there. I did register for the New York City Marathon a few months ago but I was in the pool of some 60 thousand people who were turned down. No hard feelings though. — Continue reading ยป

2009 Hartford Half Marathon

Seems like it was only a few days ago since I ran my last half marathon. Well, it actually was only a few days ago, and I found myself running another one this past Saturday, the ING Hartford Half Marathon. Actually this is really a marathon race but it incorporates a half marathon as well — Continue reading ยป

Half Marathon

    ๐Ÿ“‚ Running-hiking         ๐Ÿ—จ 2 Comments

Yesterday I ran the annual half marathon in my hometown of Ridgefield, Connecticut. It was the second time for me running a race after my herniated disc injury nearly 2 years ago and rather unexpectedly I did better than last year. My results came in at 1:55:15 which made it a 8:48/mile pace. That's my — Continue reading ยป
